MEA is offering Home Energy Surveys

Simon Ross, Low Carbon Community team Leader presenting Jane and David Farnconmbe from Ellesmere with their Home Energy SurveyMEA is now offering free and impartial home energy surveys for residents living in Ellesmere, Cleobury Mortimer and the Floodplains community.

The survey will cover changes you can make for free, insulation levels, lighting, heating controls, boiler efficiency and renewable technologies.

The resulting action plan, if implemented, will help a householder save money.

As Mrs Roberts, a resident from Ellesmere said the other day ‘I've now changed all my bulbs for low energy bulbs and was delighted when MEA showed me I have saved £150 a year.  Its fantastic'.   Another resident, Mr Harry Bond who is 95 said of the service ‘I can't believe everyone doesn't want one of these, it'll help them save money'

MEA's Simon Ross, who is running the project said "the service provides a great opportunity for people to start to understand energy efficiency in their homes and to make meaningful savings.  This is doubly important at a time when climate change is on the agenda and energy prices are soaring".

If you live in Ellesmere and would like one of these health checks please phone our local champion Jane Farncombe on 622497, or alternatively contact Simon Ross at MEA at simon@mea.org.uk
